Giving Tuesday: How You Can Help Support Our Journalism

This is the time of year when most people are focused on the Christmas season. While it is a time for shopping, it is also one for giving.

Giving Tuesday is built on the concept of spreading generosity amid all the splurging that comes with Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

The day is all about helping communities, showing up for issues that matter and acknowledging our shared humanity. We believe in the generosity and kindness of this community and are hoping you can donate to Religion Unplugged, the online global news magazine powered by The Media Project.

We recently won three EPPY Awards, given annually by Editor & Publisher Magazine, for our journalism. The competition featured over 250 entries from over 100 news organizations across the world. That could never happen without your generous past support.

As a member of the Institute for Non-Profit News, Religion Unplugged is part of the annual NewsMatch campaign. Thanks to this partnership, we have an opportunity to make your donation go even further during this time of year.

Now through Dec. 31, NewsMatch will match your new monthly donation 12 times or double your one-time gift, all up to $1,000.

We have already raised $7,000 toward our goal of $26,000. We are looking for nine people who can give $1,000 each to take us to our NewsMatch limit. All the funds raised will go towards our editorial budget. Your donation will allow us to pay writers from India to Chile to Uganda.

You can donate as little as $25. Today and every day, such acts of generosity will help keep our journalism going in the new year and beyond.
