We accept submissions from freelancers. We are currently prioritizing pitches for news features. Due to the large amount of pitches we receive, we can’t reply to all of them, but we will try our very best.


News Features:

A news feature is a piece of non-fiction writing covering a single topic in detail. It features multiple interviews and can be on a variety of topics relating to faith. A feature story can also be a profile of a person, place or organization.  

1,000 words or less: $200

More than 1,000 words: $300


Opinion Columns/Essays/Analysis:

A piece of commentary represents a written piece which expresses the opinion of an author. Essays and analysis pieces are similar in scope in that they have a thesis, but can also include interviews and observations to help support an argument.

Film & TV Reviews:

A movie review describes and evaluates a movie. Reviews are typically written by journalists giving their opinion of the movie. We only accept reviews of movies or TV programs that are new.

Art Reviews:

An art review evaluates paintings, sculptures or photography and its relative merit. Works of art are generally exhibited for public viewing at museums, galleries and exhibitions. We accept pitches regarding current exhibits. We also accept submissions regarding the artwork and history inside houses of worship most often in the form of a travel piece.

Book Reviews:

A book review offers a brief description of the text’s key points and provides a short appraisal of the strengths and weaknesses. We only accept reviews of books released in the current calendar year.

Video/Audio:

A video or audio feature is a piece of non-fiction reporting covering a single topic in detail. It features multiple interviews and can be on a variety of topics relating to religion or faith.
